Annual Sports Day of PAS, Medals to the Future Stars

LAHORE: Former Test all-rounder Abdul Razzaq, while emphasising upon the importance of sports in human life, has said that sports culture must be introduced in the schools to nourish a healthy generation.
“Sports play a vital role in the character building of a nation and I advise the children that besides their studies they must take interest in sports as well which would not only keep them physically and mentally fit but prepare them to play a constructive role in the progress of Pakistan in future”, added Razzaq who was the chief guest at the Annual Sports Day-2019 of Premier American School (PAS) here on Sunday.
Razzaq also urged upon the parents to encourage their children to take part in sports without compromising their studies. “Pakistan has produced great sportspersons who were not only highly educated but also earned world fame in sports and brought laurels for the country. Imran, an Oxford graduate and winning captain of the Pakistan team in WC-1992, is the prime minister of our country. Before Imran, the Oval’s Hero Fazal Mahmood, Imtiaz Ahmad, Majid Khan and many others highly educated sportsmen also excelled in the field of cricket and served Pakistan with distinction”, he said. Razzaq also shared his childhood memories with the school children and disclosed that he never had such a developed sports infrastructure during his school days which they have now. “It was my passion, commitment and sheer hard work for sports that I won a place in Pakistan cricket”, Razzaq told the students.
